Race Details
Back for our 2nd year, Far Runners Faringdon invite you to join us in a 10k race around the wonderful sites of Faringdon, Oxfordshire in aid of the Folly Tower.

Entry is £12.50
a minimum of 50% of each entry fee will be donated to the Folly Tower.

The route starts and finishes in Faringdon Market place and is 90% road based - we can't have a race in aid of the Folly and not visit it once (or maybe twice). The full route details will be published two weeks before the race.

Marshals and signs will be available on route to keep you going in the right direction, along with a pit stop at roughly 5k.

All entrants will receive a bespoke medal, and prizes will be awarded to the first place male and female finishers, along with some random spot prizes (everyone deserves to be a winner right!).

A full race briefing will be sent to all entrants in the week before the event.

Entries online using the link below (entries also available on the day but a medal can not be guaranteed)

The Finer Details
On the day
Registration will be open from 8:30, and the race will start at 9:30 in Faringdon Marketplace, however, please be ready to start at 9:20 when a quick race briefing will be given. No race numbers will be posted prior to the event, so please arrive in time to collect your race number which will need to be attached to your front prior to the start of the race (it would be great if you could bring safety pins but some will be available on the day).
Full details of the route will be included in the information email, but it will comprise a tour of the streets of Faringdon and include two trips up Folly Hill (not the actual tower I'm afraid). Please note, the roads will still be open to traffic. Key junctions and crossing points will be marshalled, and the route will be sign posted.
Water will be available at roughly 5k and at the finish line.
Prizes will be awarded to the first female and first male/open winner. Additional spot prizes will be awarded to random finishing positions (a prize roulette). All entrants will receive a medal
What to wear
Please dress appropriately to the weather conditions but regardless, good comfortable shoes are a must. Fancy dress is always strongly encouraged, but please ensure it is something you can run in.
Headphones
As the route uses public roads, the use of headphones is strictly prohibited except for bone conducting ones.
Photos and social media
We would like to take some photos during the run for memories and social media purposes. These may be used on social media or on our website. If you do not give us permission to use any photographs taken of you, please let us know on the form and we will respect your wishes.

Parking
Parking will be available, but limited so please car share where possible. More details will be provided in the race briefing email.
